Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a regenerative treatment that uses components from your own blood to help support the body’s natural healing process. At our podiatry and foot & ankle practice, we utilize XCELL PRP by Bioventus, an advanced platelet concentration system designed to deliver a high-quality PRP preparation for musculoskeletal conditions

PRP therapy may be used to help treat a variety of foot and ankle conditions including plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis, tendon injuries, ligament sprains, arthritis, chronic inflammation, and sports-related injuries.
During the procedure, a small sample of your blood is drawn and processed to concentrate platelets and growth factors. The PRP is then carefully injected into the area of injury or inflammation under sterile technique.
Because PRP is derived from your own blood, the treatment is minimally invasive and avoids corticosteroid-related tissue weakening. Recovery recommendations vary depending on the condition being treated, but patients are typically able to return home the same day.
While many patients experience improvement in pain and function, results can vary and multiple treatments may sometimes be recommended.
